Breakfast on Monday morning was a quiet event. There were many tired bodies in camp. The Tong Master took control though and whipped everyone into shape with an awesome breakfast.

Here is Andrew Donaldson's perspective on Monday:
Well, not much about Monday springs to mind, due to lack of sleep... I do recall that we, as the Stump community, raised well over $27000 to go towards a Sudanese refugee camp in Kenya - the first time over $20000 has been raised in the history of Stump!

After beginning the packing up of camp, with a couple of tents wearily going down, it was time for the morning Bible Studies. 

Glen Powell was at the Supper Club and he thought he had us for 2 hours. I wasn't sure if he was joking there for a while...

His talk was headed: "Did Jesus really have to die?" Unfortunately Glen did not answer this question, let alone address it.

He talked about the way we interpret the Bible. He ran through the "either/or" set of thinking that people make. We forget there is a possibility for "either/or/ or both".  

He said that the Bible does not make the claim that it is the word of God. Instead, that is "theological" thinking. He added that it doesn't necessarily mean it isn't true.

Then he waffled on, making broad statements, contradicting himself, and not getting his points across clearly. Because of this he challenged us to think about whether or not we agreed with him and what we really thought about the broad points he raised.

We had an animated discussion on the way back to camp... some of it included stoning (Glen's concept)...

It was sad to say goodbye to Stump, but we praised the Lord and shook the roof of the Big Top.

People went home exhausted, but excited. 

We all had a brilliant time at Black Stump this year and are looking forward to Black Stump 2005... we just need a little sleep first ;)
