Friday Feb 27th - Cards & Pizza Night
By Stewart Levee
The night began with
the introduction of two new members to the group, those being the two new
lounges that the Young’s had added to the backroom only that morning (that are
very comfortable).
We began with a few
games of Uno to warm-up our card skills before the rest of the group arrived.
Once most of us had arrived Lyn filled us in on the theme of the night which was
‘Bread’ (hence the Pizza portion of the night) and that after each game of
cards the winner read out a Bible verse that related to bread.
After another few
games of cards and many laughs it was decided that it was time to start on
dinner, which we created ourselves (yes, there were some strange food
combinations on some pizzas, like Baked Beans and gherkin. And Oh Jayson, the
Chilli sauce is HOT).
Later on, some more
thinking was involved (and even the occasional use of a dictionary – which
didn’t have the word Botox in it, sorry Ian). We started in groups of
two to play the cards version of Scrabble, with the winners being Ian and Sarah,
and the rest of us a mile behind.
The final stage of the
night was a few games of the groups much loved, War Lords and Scumbags, that
apparently Andy D had been practicing for, as he won the first two games
(including the second game where he cleaned us up in three moves). He then was
removed as War Lord by none other than his brother Chris. While Jo, Jayson,
Andrew (Boof), Tim, Rob and Stew were left to struggle for the middle spots
while Lyn sat comfortably on her new lounge in second.
Well I hope everybody that attended had a great time like I did, as it certainly was a fun-filled night for all and all could tell that the Lord is moving amongst us all as we all try and spread the Lords word in some way or another. We would also like to congratulate Andrew Donaldson, on his new job (yes, he has TWO jobs now).
