Tonight we all sat at a long, low table as the disciples would have done with Jesus at the Last Supper. Black cloth was draped across the ceiling and the down the far wall to add to the atmosphere. On the wall was hung a banner representing Good Friday: the rose was the blood of Christ, the thorns were the crown of thorns, the blue cloth was the life of Jesus flowing out into the world, and the feathers and starry ribbon was the Holy Spirit winging its way on as Comforter.

Jo Fox brought a delicious home-made Mexican dip with corn chips and Amanda Lewis brought an awesome dessert she'd made herself that had no ice-cream, no chocolate and no coffee, for those doing Lent. It was a scrumptious lemon tart.

We all handed around a fresh loaf of bread that Tim had made, and broke bread together. For our main course we had roast beef with gravy, honeyed carrots, zucchini, baked potato wedges and baked sweet potato wedges. It was all very filling and very enjoyable.

Along the length of the table, there were seven candles and seven scrolls. During the meal, each person would have a turn at reading out the scrolls and then lighting the candles to represent the light that God has brought into the world for us.
