Friday April 23rd - Anzac Night
by Chris Donaldson
Tonight was fair
dinkum one of the top nights so far… This could be because of two things: the
good old Aussie games and the top notch Aussie food. Pies, sausage rolls and
chips (As seen below). The night started out with Rob walking in wearing a bush
hat (where were the thongs though Rob?), Jayson turned up with a New Zealand
accent…? (Well it was an ANZAC Night!!).
Some vegemite soldiers
were eaten up. What sort of Aussie seriously doesn’t like vegemite?
When everyone had
turned up we started a game of celebrity heads; Skippy now he was a top kangaroo.
We all had a bit of fun while playing this, and some very wild guesses were
heard.
Dinner was next with
the pies and chips and a good old yarn over the dinner table.
Once we had had our fill
we played another Aussie game of Scattergories, some quick thinking from
everyone…
Andy gave us something
to think about: the ANZAC’s gave up their lives to protect their people, and
Jesus did the same. He gave up his life to protect ours.
Dessert was next and
pavlova was on the menu. We all had a share of pav and then we started our last
game for the night… Pictionary.
We all had a turn at
drawing with Andy’s new rules on how to play. And we all did quite well.
As the night ended we added up the points to see who was the most Australian out of us all and the winner was… Jayson!!! Congratulations
