Friday, June 18th 7.30pm - Italian Tim & Lyn's Our Famous Cards Night Calendar

Friday June 18h - Our Famous Cards Night with an Italian Flavour

by Jayson Fox

Yet again fun was had by all at the Young's as we had a Card's Night with a slightly Italian feel... MAMMA MIA!

The night began with a game of "Monopoly - The Card Game" which, thanks to some shrewd trading, clever risk taking, brilliant strategy and... oh yeah... a whole lot of luck, was won by me (Jayson).

Before moving on to the next game we sampled the wares of "Tim's Kitchen" where Tim proved himself to be not only a very good pasta chef but also quite the surly chef "Come and get your dinner now or it will get cold... and if it gets cold I WON'T be happy" I recall where the last words heard before all jumped from their seat and hastily headed for the kitchen. Coupled with Lyn's homemade garlic bread the meal was nothing short of bellisimo!

Next off the rank was a game of "31" which was new to us all as Tim had only downloaded it from the internet that day. Jo got off to a flying start winning the first two games and valiantly as we all tried held on to win from fast finishes by Chris and Tim. Lyn was consistent while Andy and myself battled it out for last place.

Dinner was topped off by a yummy bun-like substance which was topped with icing and filled with sultanas. Mmm! Unfortunately the sultanas may have been a little too much for my digestive system which lifted its voice in disapproval on a few too many occasions...Ooops! [I recall Jayson was making "music" before he got into the sultanas, so he can't use that cake as an excuse - ed.]

A fun night of cards was rounded off with a game of "Scrabble - The Card Game" which at one point brought Chris and Andy to hysterics as they pondered their options with the letters F,O,O & P (I am sure everyone can unscramble the letters). In the end though the Gentlemen Donaldson proved too strong holding out the fast finishing Foxes. The Youngs were perhaps a little too comfortable on the lounge and may have fallen asleep early ;-)

[As editor, I have the right to add a mature response to Jayson's last comment regarding the Youngs: Jayson didn't get a red box around him - ner ner]
