Friday September 24th - House Warming

Tonight began by recognising Amanda's new home by the fairy lights on the balcony. After random button pressing, we got buzzed in and welcomed. We all had a tour of the Sutherland apartment, and then were instructed that we could trash the place as long as we took our shoes off if we went on the balcony. That was fine with us  ;)

As it turned out we didn't get to do much trashing... Keeping us distracted, the in-depth conversations kept the place safe. Conversations ranged from sports (of course), holidays, food, and technology. No surprises, but all good. 

Amanda, with Jo's help and Jayson's BBQ skills, cooked up a wonderful dinner. We had salad, bread rolls, steak, and a range of gourmet sausages. With all that she added a potato bake thingy and a pasta bake thingy. YUM !!!!!!!!

Because this was an unofficial house-warming, after dinner Amanda had prepared a devotional study on our home in Heaven. We had a look at Revelations and a number of other passages in the bible that related to the subject. She asked pertinent questions: what do we think heaven will it be like? Will we recognise each other? What will our new bodies look like? As odd as it may sound, these are questions I had not really thought much about, so I personally got quite a bit out of this discussion.

Over chocolate cake and coffee, we discussed our involvement on the day of prayer and fasting to be held on October 23rd. It is always encouraging to see so many people eagerly coming up with ideas.

A huge thanks goes to Amanda for her hard work in bringing tonight together into a wonderful fellowship.
