Friday, July 1st - In-house Movie Night

Tonight was our in-house movie night. On good recommendation, we watched the movie, "The Butterfly Effect" on the big screen...erm..ok, it was really a big sheet stuck to the wall, but it functioned well enough as a screen.

The movie was about a man struggling to get over disturbing memories from his childhood. He discovers that he can go back in time and alter events in his past. However, every change he makes transforms his life & those around him, often to unexpected and disastrous consequences.
While it was quite a confronting movie, it was also quite powerful and thought provoking. 

This man was playing "god" with everyone's lives, forgetting that no matter our circumstances, we are still responsible for our own choices. We cannot force people to make the right decisions in their lives and neither do we always know what is best for their lives. Only God knows what is best for us. Because we can and do have a strong influence on people's lives, we must be careful to always allow God to shine through us. 
During the movie we enjoyed some freshly popped popcorn and feta & herb chips.

During intermission, we tucked into some piping hot dinner which consisted of lasagna, Italian herb bread and salad. 

And, for dessert after the movie we enjoyed marble chocolate, fresh strawberries and home-made choc tops - thanks to Amanda for the ice-cream fixings! 

I have to add that Lyn got all exciting with the chocolate duties and required close supervision...num num num.
